ZEISS B SPEED UNCOATED T1.4 PRIME LENSES are a set of 5 high performance spherical lenses – the set includes 18mm, 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm. These lenses are similar to the regular B Speeds except for the fact that the coatings have been removed from the front and rear lens elements to provide lower contrast and more dramatic lens flares. They have a T1.4 aperture, 80mm front diameter, and feature a PL mount. The unique 9-blade iris design of the B-Speed lenses creates a triangle-shaped aperture that gives the lenses a more gentle focus roll-off and produces a striking bokeh effect. The bokeh when shot wide open (T1.4) renders out-of-focus pinpoint light sources as round orbs. When stopping down to T2, it causes the circular orbs to turn into rounded triangles, providing different looks within the same set and allowing for more creative control over the final image. These lenses are available to rent or sub-rent from Cine Visuals in full sets, partial sets, or as single lenses.
