The Soft Flare Prime Lenses from MasterBuilt offer softer-edged and smoother-contrast flares than the MasterBuilt Classic series. Designed to work alone or as companions to the Classics, the Soft Flare primes provide a vintage look in a modern housing for large-format digital or film cameras. This prime lens covers a range of formats from Super35 up to IMAX 65, including ARRI ALEXA 65 Open Gate, RED MONSTRO 8K VV, and Panavision systems. The Soft Flare Prime shares the Classic Primes’ sharp imaging with smooth focus falloff and a wide T1.4 to T22 aperture range. Pair this lens with the K35 Zoom for Super 35mm work or the Angenieux EZ zooms for a full LF package.
The 114mm front diameter is shared across the lens series for quicker, easier lens changes when working with a matte box or other lens accessories. Each lens in the series incorporates aspherical elements for aberration control using fewer lens elements. The lens offers focus marks in feet, 300° of focus barrel rotation, and smooth focusing with zero breathing and backlash. The Masterbuilt Soft Flares are available to rent or sub-rent from Cine Visuals as a single lens, partial set, or complete sets.
