The Hawk V-Lite Anamorphics are a series of 8 compact and lightweight anamorphic lenses for Super 35 cameras with a PL mount. Focal lengths include 28mm – 110mm. All the lenses have a constant aperture of T2.2 (except for the 110mm T3). These lenses produce tastefully imperfect images, with great center sharpness, and pleasant falloff. The Hawk V Lites have aberrations and flare characteristics that produce deep nostalgic associations, with contrast and center sharpness that highlight the subject and add an air of pure professionality. Smaller and lighter than a decent percentage of spherical primes, these anamorphics are part of a very small pool of compact high performance anamorphics.
Hawk lenses prioritize simple, elegant design and build quality, these lenses have no electronic components, making them exceptionally mechanically reliable. They allude to the future of anamorphic lenses, maintaining classic elements while incorporating modern design techniques. Paired with the Cooke 2x zoom, an entirely comprehensive kit can be created.
