The Angenieux 30-72mm and 56-152mm Anamorphic Zooms offer a 2x anamorphic squeeze and covers Super35mm formats. These lenses feature a constant T4 aperture, and have minimal distortion and breathing. They are lightweight and compact, making them easy to use on set, and feature a close focus distance of 25 inches. The focus ring has 320 degrees of rotation, providing room for precise focus marks, and the internal focus design means the lens length stays constant during focus adjustment.
These lenses are known for their creamy and organic look, excellent color, contrast, and resolution, consistent with Anginieux’s reputation. The 30-72 and 56-152mm innovative design makes them so compact that they are the smallest and lightest anamorphic zoom on the market. The Anamorphic 42-420mm is a relatively lightweight, fairly compact, lens, featuring a very long zoom range, especially among anamorphic optics. The Anamorphic 42-420 matches the rest of the Anginieux zooms and similarly pairs well with Cooke 2X Anamorphics, and retains the signature organic Angenieux look, with a neutral flare. With traditional anamorphic zooms having both a lower zoom range and being far larger and heavier, the 42-420 is representative of this entire series of lenses, smaller, lighter, and delivering a classic Angenieux anamorphic image.
