Description
The LEITZ/LEICA SUMMICRON-C S35 Prime Lenses are a set of high-performance cinema lenses with a PL mount and Super 35+ coverage. These lenses have become a popular choice when shooting on Super35+ sensors such as the RED Dragon 8K or Alexa Open Gate 3.4k. They feature a purely spherical design and (except for the 15mm and 40mm) and do not employ aspherical elements like the Summilux-C lenses. The set includes 12 focal lengths from 15mm to 135mm, and the 180mm telephoto companion to the set (the 180mm is available exclusively at Cine Visuals). The SUMMICRON lenses are color-matched to the Summilux lenses, and are designed to be used in conjunction with them. The SUMMICRON are 30% smaller and 20% lighter than the Summilux, but manage to maintain the same premium look and feel.
Utilized on projects like “ Mr. Robot” “Ant-Man Quantimania” “The Terminal List” and “Ozark” these lenses are used for their authentic color rendition, natural focus transitions and fall-off and “creamy sharpness” that captures everything from actors to architecture with true representation. Skin tones remain soft and smooth while hard edges and fine details retain their contrast, making them one of the most versatile sets of cine lenses available.
