Description

Cooke Anamorphic SF 1.8x Full Frame prime lenses are designed for large format production. Offering a similar aesthetic feel to the original Cooke Anamorphics, the 1.8x provide a slightly different squeeze factor and a larger image circle to completely cover Full Frame sensors (Alexa LF, Sony Venice, Red Monstro).

With a 1.8x squeeze, the lens still exhibits a typical anamorphic feel with oval bokeh and uses about 90% of the pixels at 2.4:1. Shoot at 2.7:1 and you have all the available frame and 100% of the pixels. Like with all Cooke lenses, the 1.8x Full Frame Anamorphics offer superb optical and mechanical performance, control of flare, distortion, veiling glare and spherical aberrations at full aperture.

The “SF” (Special Flare) version of the lenses contain coatings that give a more pronounced, classic blue horizontal flare when light shines directly into the lens.
