product details
AngΓ©nieuxβs Optimo Primes are a 12-lens full-frame set built to carry the neutral, cinematic look of Optimo zooms into single-focal-length glass. The result is a native-FF, high-speed, metadata-savvy prime family that matches Optimo zoom color and contrast. A set spans 18, 21, 24, 28, 32, 40, 50, 60, 75, 100, 135, and 200mm focal lengths, and all but the extremes are a fast T1.8. Optimo Primes are an unusually adaptable toolkit for todayβs multi-format productionsβone you can tune from βsurgicalβ to βcinematic patinaβ without leaving the mount. Available for rental or sub-rental at Cine Visuals.

Image Fidelity & Focus
Optically, the look is modern-neutral: high resolution and contrast with uniform color, designed to be a blank canvas that can be shaped in camera. Characterized by high resolution/contrast and uniform colorimetry, the series offers Integrated Optical Palette: user-swappable elements that let users alter character inside the lens, including interchangeable iris units (including oval/3-blade for stylized bokeh), internal glass elements for texture, and a rear filter slot. Results range from crisp, high-fidelity images to gentler roll-off, richer halation, or anamorphic-style bokeh without leaving the Optimo ecosystem. Contrast is clean and consistent rather than flamboyant; sharpness holds well into the corners on FF; color fringing is well-suppressed for a neutral grade; falloff is gentle and flattering; and multi-coatings keep veiling flare in check while allowing attractive, controllable streaks when provoked.
Flare & Bokeh
Bokeh is smooth and cinematic. Contrast is moderate with pleasing tonal roll-off. Sharpness is high without harshness. Flares are subtle and organic.
Handling & Adaptability
Each lens is relatively compact for full-frame glass, with weights ranging from about 2.3 to 3.5 kg (5β7 lb) depending on focal length. This makes them light enough for handheld, Steadicam, gimbal, and drone use, but still robust enough for studio setups. The housings are balanced, with smooth rotation and stability that make operating them less fatiguing across long shoots. The lenses feature 300Β° focus rotation, providing precise control with a long, smooth throw. Focus and iris gears are standardized across the set, meaning accessories like follow-focus, wireless systems, and matte boxes do not need repositioning between lens changes. Witness marks are engraved and highly visible on both sides of the lens for quick reference. Front diameters are standardized at 114 mm, simplifying matte box, filter, and accessory use. The Optimo Primes also support Cooke/i technology and metadata protocols.
Image Circle
Full frame, approximately 46.3 mm.
Cinematic Heritage
Announced at Cannes in 2019, the line was developed with Band Pro and Jebsen β considered the first line of primes from AngΓ©nieux in 70 years.
