The ARRI Signature Primes are a large-format cinema lens series designed to deliver a clean, modern image with a balanced, organic character. Built for full-frame and large-format capture, they combine exceptional sharpness, smooth focus falloff, and natural color reproduction, making them a standard choice for high-end narrative, commercial, and streaming productions.
Signature Primes are known for their consistent rendering across a wide range of focal lengths, maintaining clarity and contrast while preserving gentle, lifelike skin tones. Their optical design produces minimal distortion, breathing, and aberration, while smooth, rounded bokeh and controlled flare contribute to a refined, cinematic look. With lightweight housings, LPL mount integration, and ARRIโs Lens Data System (LDS-2), they offer both precision and efficiency on set, supporting modern large-format workflows without compromising image quality or consistency.
Image Fidelity & Focus
Signature Primes produce smooth focus fall-off, and best-in-class highlight and shadow retention, as well as open shadows and crisp blacks, with no visible breathing and distortion. The clean look maintains consistency across a huge range of perspectives.
Flare & Bokeh
Beautifully rounded bokeh, described as silky smooth and exceptionally soft, is achieved through precision optics and innovative coatings, which also control flare.
Handling & Adaptability
Built with lightweight magnesium housings and equipped with the LPL mount, Signature Primes offer robust mechanics. They boast the largest focal length range in the industry. All Signature Primes feature ARRIโs Lens Data System LDS-2.
Image Circle
Designed with a large image circle to work with cameras like the ARRI LF, Signature Primes cover sensor sizes up to 46mm โ full frame and beyond, easily covering the Monstro at 8K FF, for example.
Cinematic Heritage
Based on a groundbreaking optical design, ARRI Signature Primes are well known as the lenses used by Roger Deakins, ASC, BSC on the feature film 1917, which won the Oscar for Best Cinematography, among ten nominations. Coincidentally, ARRI was founded in that year. In the ensuing decades ARRI has built a legacy of engineering expertise tailored to the creative needs of filmmakers.
