About the ARRI Ensō Prime Cinema Lenses
The ARRI Ensō Primes are a modern large-format cinema lens series designed to deliver a refined, natural image with a balance of precision and subtle character. Built for full-frame and large-format capture, they combine edge-to-edge sharpness, minimal focus breathing, and smooth tonal rendering, making them well suited for high-end narrative and commercial production.
Ensō Primes are distinguished by their ability to produce clean, polished imagery while maintaining a sense of intimacy, particularly in close-ups. With fast T2.1 apertures, gentle focus falloff, and controlled flare characteristics, they create soft, expressive backgrounds without overwhelming the image. Their compact, uniform housings and LPL mount system support efficient on-set workflows, while optional Ensō Vintage Elements allow cinematographers to further shape the look, adding flexibility without changing the core optical design.

ARRI Ensō Primes are engineered for large‑format capture, offering edge‑to‑edge sharpness and faithful tonal rendition. With superior close focus, gentle fall-off and minimal breathing, they produce natural images in any shooting situation thanks to a fast T2.1 aperture and precision-aligned optical design.
Flare & Bokeh
With single-layer coatings, Ensō Primes deliver subtle vintage flare characteristics without overpowering the image. Bokeh is stunning, and the fast aperture yields creamy, out‑of‑focus backgrounds —perfect for expressive storytelling.
Handling & Adaptability
Each ARRI Ensō prime focal length shares a uniform, compact housing (117 – 207 mm long, 95 – 156 mm front diameter) with identical gear placements and a 318° focus rotation, enabling rapid lens swaps and precise focus pulls. The ARRI LPL mount’s shorter flange focal depth reduces size and weight, while optional 1.4X/2X Ensō Extenders extend reach without changing the core lens body.
Image Circle
ARRI Ensō Primes fully cover large‑format/open‑gate and standard full‑frame sensors when mounted in ARRI’s LPL mount. The same image circle is more than ample for Super 35 modes. Universal LPL compatibility guarantees consistent edge‑to‑edge coverage without vignetting on these ARRI-supported camera systems: ALEXA 65, ALEXA 35, ALEXA LF, ALEXA Mini LF, ALEXA Classic/XT/SXT, ALEXA Mini, AMIRA
