Leitz HUGO Primes fuse the rich visual legacy of Leica M photography optics with professional-grade cinematography design. Built upon the much-admired Leitz M 0.8 series, these lenses honor Leica’s storied optical heritage with warm, rich imagery in a compact, cine-ready form and a modern, durable cine housing. They are characterized by fast apertures, close focus, sharp centers, and a classic look reminiscent of 1970s and ‘80s Hollywood. Leitz HUGO Primes come in ten full frame focal lengths from 18mm to 135mm, most with a fast T1.5 aperture. These are supplemented by a 50 mm T1.0 Noctilux “special edition.” Leitz HUGO Primes are available for rental or subrental at Cine Visuals.

The inclusion of a single aspheric optical element makes it visually compatible with both the multi-aspheric Leica Summilux-C and the spherical Leica Summicron-C primes. With nine lenses in six groups and apochromatic correction, outstanding resolution and contrast can be achieved all the way to the edge of the frame.
