product details
Angénieux EZ zooms are versatile, lightweight cinema lenses designed to deliver high-end optical performance in a modular, adaptable form. Rivaling the speed of many primes, EZ zooms are cost-effective and production-friendly while delivering a classic Angénieux look that is sharp yet flattering, contrasty but not clinical. All three EZ lenses – the EZ-1 (15-40mm), EZ-2 (30-90mm) and EZ-3 (45-165mm) – can be configured for either Super 35 or full frame/VV sensors. In either setup, they retain amazing close focus capability. Available for rental or sub-rental at Cine Visuals.

Angénieux EZ Zooms
Image Fidelity & Focus
Known for their smooth, cinematic rendering, the EZ Zooms produce natural, flattering skin tones, pleasing contrast, gentle focus fall-off, and minimal breathing, with the classic Angénieux warmth and dimensionality prized by cinematographers. There is no color aberration, even wide open, and like almost all modern Angénieux zooms, virtually no focus breathing.
Handling & Adaptability
In Super 35 configuration, the EZ-1 offers T2.0 and the EZ-2 T2.0; in full-frame mode, both shift to T3.0, and will cover ARRI Alexa LF, RED Raptor 8K VV and Sony Venice/Venice2. The EZ-3 in FF mode is T3.5-4.5. Compact and lightweight for their class, EZ zooms are ideal for handheld, Steadicam, and gimbal work, yet robust enough for feature films and broadcast productions. With precise mechanics, standard 0.8 pitch gear rings, and consistent front diameters, the EZ series lenses are flexible and durable. Users can easily interchange between PL, RF, EF, and E mounts.
Flare & Bokeh
Flaring is subtle and controlled, but still present and quite beautiful. Bokeh is very soft and smooth, especially wide open.
Image Circle
Each lens features a rear optical block that can be swapped to convert between Super 35 and full-frame/VistaVision coverage, changing both focal length range and aperture while maintaining consistent image quality.
Cinematic Heritage
The Angénieux EZ series zooms were introduced in 2016. Angénieux has been at the forefront of innovation in cinema technology since the 1930s, when Pierre Angénieux worked with French director and pioneer Abel Gance. Today, Pierre Angénieux is generally credited as the inventor of the modern zoom or variable focal length lens.
