P+S Technik Technovision Primes
Prime - 1.5x Anamorphic - Full Frame
product details
Technovision 1.5x anamorphic primes are modern lenses designed by P+S Technik, inspired by the classic Technovision lenses from the 1970s. They provide a gentler widescreen squeeze than traditional 2x glass, offering a balance between scope aesthetics and efficient sensor use. Creating a 2.39:1 image without cropping retains more image area, adding efficiency in digital workflows. Their โScope feel blends classic anamorphic personality with modern practicality. The Technovision 1.5x anamorphic primes set includes 40mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 135mm, and 150mm focal lengths, all with a 1.5x squeeze factor optimized for full-frame sensors. A 70-200mm T3.5 Technovision zoom can be added to extend the range further. Available for rental or sub-rental at Cine Visuals.

About the P+S Technik Technovision Prime Cinema Lenses
The P+S Technik Technovision 1.5x anamorphic primes deliver a refined anamorphic look optimized for modern full-frame capture. With a 1.5x squeeze, they produce a 2.39:1 image while preserving more sensor area than traditional 2x anamorphics, making them efficient for digital workflows without sacrificing scope aesthetics.
The image retains key anamorphic traits such as oval bokeh and horizontal flares, but with a more controlled, subtle expression. Sharpness is strong through the center with smooth, dimensional falloff, and contrast remains balanced and cinematic. Built with modern housings and consistent mechanics, they are dependable across handheld and studio setups. These lenses are well suited for productions seeking a cleaner, more practical anamorphic approach with classic influence.
Image Fidelity & Focus
Technovision 1.5x primes produce a subtle anamorphic look compared to 2x designs. They retain oval bokeh and mild horizontal flare while preserving more vertical resolution, making them particularly well suited to full-frame and streaming formats. Sharpness is high in the center with smooth, natural and dimensional falloff, while contrast is smooth and cinematic. Chromatic aberrations are minimal thanks to modern coatings.
Flare & Bokeh
Flares are horizontal, streaky and bold without overwhelming. Bokeh is oval and dreamy.
Handling & Adaptability
Robust mechanics, PL mounts, consistent housings, and geared rings characterize the Technovision 1.5x lenses. They are moderately heavy but manageable for both studio and handheld work. Their 1.5x squeeze gives them broad adaptability across aspect ratios, allowing filmmakers to achieve widescreen looks without losing resolution.
Image Circle
Technovision 1.5x anamorphic primes cover Full Frame and VistaVision sensors with a 43.3mm image circle.
Cinematic Heritage
Technovision has been synonymous with anamorphic cinematography since the 1960s, particularly in European cinema. Partnering with P+S Technik, they reintroduced their brand in the 2010s to meet the demand for anamorphics suited to full-frame digital cameras.
