Cooke AP3 anamorphic primes are compact Full Frame 1.5x lenses designed for modern mirrorless camera systems. The set includes 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm focal lengths, all at T2.4, with colour-balanced optics, a shared 87mm front diameter, and aligned focus and iris mechanics across the set.
The AP3 series brings Cookeโs anamorphic image character into a smaller, more practical lens package than traditional large-format anamorphic systems. With lightweight housings, interchangeable E, RF, L, and M mount support, and Full Frame coverage with Super 35 compatibility, the set is well suited for productions that want Cooke anamorphic rendering in a compact, modern workflow.

Image Fidelity & Focus
AP3 delivers strong central image structure wide open at T2.4, consistent across all three focal lengths. Cooke's optical approach prioritises clarity and controlled anamorphic rendering together: defined where precision matters, with natural highlight behaviour and smooth defocus transitions. All three lenses share a 160-degree focus rotation with dual imperial and metric scales and a non-linear focus movement designed for accurate, smooth travel. Colour balance is matched across the set.
Handling & Adaptability
Ranging from 1.2 to 1.4kg depending on focal length, the AP3 lenses are compact and lightweight for Full Frame anamorphics, with an ergonomic design finished in a tough anodised shell suited to handheld and documentary-style setups. Cooke's AP3 platform supports interchangeable E, RF, L, and M mounts. The shared architecture across the set, including matched focus and iris gear positions, a common 87mm front diameter, standard 0.8 MOD drive gears, and a shared filter thread of M82 x 0.75, keeps motor setups consistent and lens changes fast throughout a shooting day.
