They deliver prime-like sharpness, natural contrast, and repeatable flare signature that adds cinematic personality and integrates seamlessly into large-format productions. The Zeiss Supreme Radiance line was developed in response to the desire for vintage flare traits that were more predictable, controllable and consistent. The Supreme Zoom Radiance series includes the 15-30mm, 28-80mm and 70-200mm models, all T2.9. Covering full-frame sensors, they extend the expressive flare look into versatile zoom form. The Zeiss Supreme Zoom Radiance lenses are a full-frame cinema zoom series designed to bring the controlled, expressive flare characteristics of the Radiance primes into a versatile zoom format. Built for large-format production, they combine prime-like sharpness, natural contrast, and consistent performance across the zoom range with a distinctive flare signature that adds character without compromising image integrity.
These lenses are defined by their bold yet repeatable flaring, producing colorful, blooming highlights that remain controlled and predictable in practical shooting conditions. Alongside their flare behavior, they maintain minimal distortion, low chromatic aberration, and smooth focus falloff, delivering a clean, cinematic image with added visual personality. Image Fidelity & Focus
These zooms match the sharpness, smooth contrast, and natural color rendition of the Radiance primes, along with their signature bold, repeatable flares, but in a variable focus lens. They each deliver consistent performance across the zoom range, with minimal breathing and distortion. Focus falloff is gentle and smooth across the zoom range, and chromatic aberrations are minimal.
Flare & Bokeh
Bokeh is round and clean and natural. Due to a refined coating recipe, flaring โ the signature trait of these lenses โ is bold, colorful, and repeatable, blooming gracefully without losing detail or overwhelming the image.
Handling & Adaptability
The Radiance zooms are heavier than primes but remain manageable compared to competitors. They feature consistent 114mm fronts, geared mechanics, and PL mounts with /i metadata support.
