Sony G Master Primes
Image Fidelity & Focus
Sony G Master (GM) primes deliver high contrast, crisp sharpness, and accurate, slightly cool color rendition. They are among the sharpest lenses available, capable of resolving 8K and beyond. Their look is modern and clean, ideal for projects requiring pristine imagery. Falloff is smooth, with minimal onion-ring patterns. Chromatic aberrations are well suppressed, though faint fringing can appear wide open.
Handling & Adaptability
Compact and lightweight, G Master primes are smaller than traditional cine primes, making them ideal for handheld, drone, and gimbal use. They feature geared focus and iris controls.
Flare & Bokeh
Bokeh is a standout trait: creamy, circular, and smooth thanks to advanced aperture design and an 11-blade iris, aided by Sonyโs XA (extreme aspherical) elements. Flare control is excellent, thanks to advanced coatings.
Image Circle
Sony G Master primes cover Full Frame sensors.
Cinematic Heritage
Sony launched the G Master line in 2016. As Sony cinema cameras like the Venice gained popularity, G Master lenses found a new life in filmmaking, offering affordable, high-performance, full frame primes.
