Leitz Elsie primes are a new generation of full-frame cine lenses for modern digital cinematography, designed to be compact, lightweight, and accessible while maintaining the Leitz optical pedigree. Elsie primes are characterized by a modern cinematic blend of high resolution suitable for 8K sensors and smooth contrast with gentle focus roll-off. Cinematographers choose them for commercials, television, and features where portability and dependable performance matter, but the extreme size or price of larger premium Leitz lines is prohibitive. The initial set includes 13 focal lengths from 15mm to 150mm, all at T2.1. Available for rental or subrental at Cine Visuals.

Handling & Adaptability

The inclusion of a single aspheric optical element makes it visually compatible with both the multi-aspheric Leica Summilux-C and the spherical Leica Summicron-C primes. With nine lenses in six groups and apochromatic correction, outstanding resolution and contrast can be achieved all the way to the edge of the frame.
