About the Fujinon GF 19-35mm Zoom Cinema Lens
Fujinon GF 19-35mm is an ultra-wide large-format power zoom designed for the GFX system. It offers the widest angle of view available in the GF format, equivalent to 15-28mm on full frame. With a constant T3.5 aperture, exposure stays consistent across the zoom range, and the lens is designed to minimize focus breathing. The wide range suits establishing shots, tight interiors, and handheld or single-operator work.
The lens has cinema-style mechanics, with 0.8 MOD geared rings for focus, iris, and zoom and 200ยฐ of focus rotation for accurate pulls. Internal motors support autofocus, auto iris, and servo zoom, with switches to move each function to manual control. Up to five stops of optical image stabilization help in handheld situations. The optical design uses 23 elements in 15 groups, including four ED and three aspherical elements, along with EBC coatings to reduce aberrations, flare, and ghosting. The body is weather-resistant.

Image Fidelity & Focus
The Fujinon GF 19-35mm delivers sharp, high-contrast images with natural perspective across its ultra-wide range, keeping lines straight and spatial relationships intact. Four ED elements and three aspherical elements help control chromatic aberration, color fringing, and veiling glare, while Fujinon's EBC coatings support consistent color rendering and contrast. The constant T3.5 aperture holds exposure steady through the zoom, and the optical design is built to minimize focus breathing. Geared focus, zoom, and iris rings with 200ยฐ of focus rotation give operators precise control for pulls.
Handling & Adaptability
Weighing 4.61 lbs and measuring about 8.8 inches long, the lens packs 23 optical elements in 15 groups into a compact ultra-wide zoom. Built-in optical image stabilization provides up to five stops of correction for handheld, gimbal, and run-and-gun work. Internal motors drive focus, iris, and zoom, with switches to move each function between servo and manual control. The 0.8 MOD gears work with standard follow focus systems and lens motors. The lens is weather-resistant.
Flare & Bokeh
A 13-blade rounded iris produces a nearly circular bokeh, which keeps out-of-focus highlights and point sources smooth as they fall out of focus. EBC coatings and ED elements reduce internal reflections and ghosting, and flare stays controlled across the zoom range.
Image Circle
The Fujinon GF 19-35mm has a 54.78mm image circle, covering a 44 x 33mm large-format sensor such as the Fujifilm GFX Eterna 55, including Open Gate recording. Its 19-35mm range is equivalent to 15-28mm on full frame, with a diagonal angle of view from 110ยฐ to 76ยฐ.
Cinematic Heritage
Fujinon began in 1940, when Fujifilm started producing optical glass at its Odawara factory. In 1972, the EBC Fujinon 55mm F3.5 Macro became the first camera lens with Electron Beam Coating, a multilayer coating that increases contrast and reduces ghosting and flare. That coating technology continues in the GF 19-35mm, which offers the widest angle of view yet available in the GF format.
