Named after the historic French city of Arles, these lenses embody a modern approach to cinema optics: fast, sharp, and full-frame—but with intentional cinematic character. Arles lenses are crafted for large-format and full-frame digital cinema, based on an optical philosophy that emphasizes clarity, precision, and adaptability for today’s sophisticated storytelling. The inclusion of a single aspheric optical element makes it visually compatible with both the multi-aspheric Leica Summilux-C and the spherical Leica Summicron-C primes. With nine lenses in six groups and apochromatic correction, outstanding resolution and contrast can be achieved all the way to the edge of the frame.
