product details
The LEITZ/LEICA NOCTILUX is a 50mm full frame prime lens that has been re-housed by TLS. It offers full frame coverage for Mini LF, Venice, and Monstro cameras. This legendary lens has a vintage, dreamy character and extremely shallow depth of field, thanks to its ultra-fast 0.95 aperture. The re-housing by TLS improves the original close focus of the lens by about 1 foot.
It is the king of low-light, nicknamed the light giant. First introduced in 1966, and undergoing subsequent revisions, it is still to this day the fastest aspherical lens. Being one of the first lenses to rely on large aspherical elements, it manages a working aperture of T0.95, wide open. With unbelievable chromatic lack of chromatic aberrations, and a breathtaking sharpness for its speed, this lens provides a look not found anywhere else. The Noctilux can be used to shoot in extreme circumstance, with very low light, or relied on for its dreamy and unmatched bokeh.
Match this legendary lens with its contemporary Leica R counterparts, or pair it with the tack sharp Leitz Primes. The Leica Noctilux, and its counterparts are available to rent in full, partial, or individual packages from Cine Visuals.
