The Optica Magnus Super 35 to Super 35 Open Gate Expander is a precision optical expander designed to enable select Super 35 cinema lenses to fully cover Super 35 Open Gate sensors, making it ideal for productions working with high-resolution digital cinema cameras such as the ARRI Alexa 35. Optimized for use with the Angénieux Optimo 24–290mm, this expander delivers excellent sharpness, contrast, and color fidelity while introducing only approximately 1/3 stop of light loss, allowing cinematographers to take advantage of larger sensor capture, increased framing flexibility, and additional overscan for post-production without changing their preferred lens package.
