The cmotion Cinefade system gives cinematographers a dynamic way to control exposure and depth of field with unmatched precision. The original Cinefade VariND uses a motorized polarizer paired with a fixed polarizer to create a variable neutral density filter that adjusts exposure smoothly from 0.4 to 1.7 stops without changing depth of field. When combined with cPRO lens control, it enables the signature “cinefade” effect—seamlessly transitioning from deep focus to shallow focus in-camera. The new Cinefade Vari360 builds on this technology with a 360° rotating polarizer, offering complete polarization control alongside the VariND’s continuous exposure adjustment.
